UPDATE MAY 28, 2020: We are very excited to announce that a tentative reopen date of Monday, June 29 has been set for Fit4less clubs in Manitoba, Saskakchewan and Nova Scotia, and Monday, June 22 for Fit4Less clubs in British Columbia and New Brunswick. A communication will be sent out to members in these provinces one or more weeks prior to reopening with details on how you can make membership changes.
Tentative reopening dates will be announced for other provinces in the coming weeks so stay tuned! We are working on a comprehensive safety and cleaning plan for our clubs and will re-open when we feel it is safe to do so. The safety of our members and staff is our top priority at this time. We will update members with regional/provincial re-opening dates and new safety measures shortly so please continue to check back. We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to be back in the gym together!
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, we have been carefully monitoring the progression of the virus and closely following the advice of Canada’s public health authorities. We have followed their recommendations and have implemented numerous changes in our clubs to focus on our highest priority—the health and safety of our members, club staff, and everyone in Canada.
As the virus continues to spread in communities across Canada, and with Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer raising the public risk to ‘serious,’ we are seeing the need for increasingly bold action to help reduce transmission.
We have made the difficult but important decision to close all Fit4Less clubs across Canada, effective immediately.
Our purpose has always been to give every Canadian the opportunity to live a fit and healthy life. There is no moment in our history where that purpose is more important than today. Like other businesses across the country, we are closing our doors to further limit the spread of this virus and to protect the most vulnerable in our community. It is the right thing to do.
We know that exercise is extremely important to an individual’s physical and mental health. We are committed to continuing to do so throughout this difficult time. We are also committed to the well-being of our club staff, including those who will be without work during the closure. We have made the decision to continue to pay all of our club staff for the next two weeks to help lessen the financial burden of this tremendous change.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep you posted as more information becomes available. We look forward to reopening our doors as soon as possible and welcoming everyone back.
Take care of yourself, your families and each other,
Your Fit4Less Operations Team
